RME created an XLR socket for the primary I/O that fits neatly into the enclosure and requires less room.
Individually switchable 48V phantom power is provided by two digitally controlled preamps. With a relay-driven PAD and a gain range of 76 dB, adjusted in 1 dB steps, these circuits offer great EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance, line overload protection, and sufficient gain for even the lowest level microphones.
Because of Babyface Pro's extraordinarily efficient design, it rarely needs an additional power source. It operates flawlessly on USB 3 bus power and most USB 2 connections, with no loss in technical specifications. Because of this, you may record on the go using it in conjunction with your preferred condenser mics.
An optical TOSLINK I/O completes the feature set; it can be used as an SPDIF port for sessions up to 192 kHz or as an ADAT port with SMUX compatibility. The Babyface Pro is perfect for multi-track applications in both live and studio settings since it fully supports 12 analog inputs and 12 outputs when paired with an external ADAT converter. Babyface Pro's jack inputs 3 and 4 accept any line or high impedance instrument as a plug-in. You can record your guitar while on the go without the need for extra hardware. The package is completed with MIDI I/O via a breakout connection that is included.

> The bottom-mounted +19 / +4 dBu switch directly lowers the output level, improving SNR for sensitive active monitors, preventing distortion and overload, and keeping TotalMix FX faders around 0 dB.
> Full SteadyClock FS circuit like ADI-2 Pro FS for low jitter and great immunity.
> 3.5 mm TRS phones output power rises from 70 mW to 90 mW. THD of both phones outputs improved by up to 10 dB. Uses same output op-amps as ADI-2 Pro now. Output impedance of 3.5 mm TRS lowered from 2 Ohms to 0.1 Ohms.
> Mic inputs SNR improved from 112.2 dB to 113.7 dB, TRS Line inputs SNR improved from 114 dB to 116.3 dB (120 dBA). THD Line inputs improved by 8 dB.
> 6 samples less latency on the AD side by new ADC (5 samples AD, 7 samples DA. It won't get quicker...).
> All the above improvements were achieved without raising the units power consumption.
> K-slot for theft protection.
